Privacy Policy

WEN interior (https://www.wen-interior.com) respects the privacy of all users of its site and ensures that the personal information you provide is treated confidentially. We use your data to process orders as quickly and easily as possible. For the rest, we will only use this data with your consent.

PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

General purpose of processing
We use your data exclusively for the purpose of our services. This means that the purpose of processing is always directly related to the assignment you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time—other than at your request—we will explicitly ask for your consent beforehand.

Your data will not be shared with third parties, other than to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to secrecy based on the agreement between them and us, or an oath or legal obligation.

Automatically collected data
Data automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This data (e.g., your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data. Cooperation with fiscal and criminal investigations in relevant cases may require WEN interior, based on a legal obligation, to share your data in connection with fiscal or criminal investigations by the government. In such a case, we are forced to share your data, but we will resist this within the possibilities the law offers us.

Retention periods
We store your data as long as you are a customer of ours. This means that we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you indicate this to us, we will also interpret this as a request for erasure ("right to be forgotten"). Based on applicable administrative obligations, we must keep invoices with your (personal) data; we will therefore retain this data for as long as the applicable term runs (7 years). Data provided for the purpose of processing an order, promotion, or competition will be stored for a maximum of 3 years. If you have subscribed to our newsletter, this data will be kept until you unsubscribe from the newsletter yourself. Data you have provided on the WebwinkelKeur website for the purpose of reviewing WEN interior will be retained.

WEN interior uses the collected data to provide its customers with the following services:

  • If you place an order, we need your name, e-mail address, and (delivery) address to prepare an invoice, carry out your order, and keep you informed of its progress.
  • Payment for your order is processed by Shopify Payments.
  • For the newsletter, you must always sign up yourself and give permission for the newsletter to be sent. When registering, your first name and e-mail address are requested. If you have signed up for the newsletter, you will receive the newsletter a maximum of 4 times a month containing various promotions, offers, news, and other information.
  • Data about the use of the site and the feedback we receive from visitors help us to further develop and improve the site. You can give feedback by sending an e-mail to info@wen-interior.com. We also regularly hold a survey to collect feedback. For this, we share a link in the order process. Sharing feedback in the survey is anonymous and therefore no personal data will be collected for this purpose.
    • If you respond to a promotion or competition, we ask for your name and possibly your e-mail address. This data is necessary to carry out the promotion, announce the prize winner(s), and measure the response to the marketing activities. We also need the address details for sending the prizes to the winners or any promotional products.
    • For advertising on Facebook and Instagram, we use the data (country, gender, age) known about you to Facebook and Instagram. This data helps us to show the advertisement to those people for whom our products/services are interesting. This data is general and cannot be traced back to you as a person.

Collaboration with third parties

WEN interior works with the following parties:

  • Web store software Shopify

Our web store runs on software from Shopify. Personal data that you make available to us for the purpose of our services is shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data to offer us (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose.

Shopify is obliged, based on the agreement we have concluded with them, to take appropriate security measures. If you place an order with us, we will, if desired, store your data in your account on a Secure Server. You can provide a username and password so that you do not have to enter your name and address, telephone number, e-mail address, delivery and payment details with every new order.

Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored.

This website places cookies for the following reasons:

Usually, cookies can be managed, edited, and deleted via your browser. More information about enabling, disabling, and deleting cookies can be found in the instructions and/or by using the Help function of your browser.
  • Webhosting Hostnet
We purchase web hosting services from Hostnet. Hostnet processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. Shopify does not have access to our mailbox and we treat all our e-mail traffic confidentially. We can, exclusively with your consent, use your e-mail address to inform you about the development of the website and about special offers and promotions in the form of a newsletter. Paypal reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and in this context share (anonymized) data with third parties. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Paypal's services for which they engage third parties. • Your rights
Based on the applicable Dutch and European legislation, you have certain rights as a data subject with regard to the personal data processed by or on our behalf. We explain below what these rights are and how you can exercise these rights. In principle, to prevent misuse, we only send transcripts and copies of your data to the e-mail address already known to us. In the event that you wish to receive the data at a different e-mail address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We maintain records of processed requests; in the case of a request for erasure ("right to be forgotten"), we administer anonymized data. You will receive all transcripts and copies of data in the machine-readable data format that we use within our systems. You have the right at all times to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you suspect that we are using your personal data in the wrong way.

    Right of access

You always have the right to inspect the data that we process (or have processed) and that relates to your person or can be traced back to it. You can make a request to this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation that the data has been adjusted to the e-mail address known to us.

    Right to restriction of processing

You always have the right to restrict the data that we process (or have processed) that relates to your person or can be traced back to it. In applicable cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of WEN interior. If you object, we will immediately cease data processing pending the handling of your objection. If your objection is well-founded, we will provide you with transcripts and/or copies of data that we process (or have processed) and then permanently cease processing. You also have the right not to be subjected to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies. If you believe that this is the case, please contact our contact person for privacy matters.

    Dutch Data Protection Authority

The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) supervises compliance with privacy legislation. Do you have a complaint about the use of your personal data and can't we resolve it together? Then you can contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

    Data leak notification

As of January 1, 2016, I, as a web store owner, am obliged to report data leaks to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. A data leak is a security incident involving access to or destruction, alteration, or release of personal data without this being the intention. In the event of a data leak, personal data must have been lost or unlawful processing of personal data must not be excluded. In the event of such a data leak, I will also notify my customers of this by means of an e-mail.
